Tips to help with your CX award submission

In 2018 I was privileged to be a recipient of two CXPA awards, represented Australia as a judge at the International Customer Experience Awards in Amsterdam and co-lead the CXPA Innovation Awards. This experience validated to me the importance of reflecting and recognising the hard work of CX teams as they strive to improve experiences and remain competitive as customer needs and expectations continue to evolve.

Entries for the two leading CX industry award programs have opened, with an array of categories to select.  As a judge at previous awards, I know what it takes to impress the panel, so, here are some tips to increase your chances of a successful entry:

  1. Carefully read the category criteria, create a spreadsheet to keep track of the requirements.
  2. Make it easy for the judges to visualize your entry.  Judges will be tasked with scoring between 15-20 entries hence any links to media and websites will greatly assist.
  3. Clearly articulate the entry in a story format, describe the why, what, when and how, test it with a friend.  Don’t forget to talk about the learnings that took place along the way, after all we are in the business of continuous improvement!
  4. Include supporting evidence such as metrics.
